Trees are the regal symbols of life. They two are born from seeds, grow, live a fruitful life, and slowly decline till death. They are an extremely important part of our landscape creating homes for wildlife and cleansing our precious air.
The Marion Cemetery is a wonderful example of nature. Many find the cemetery the best place to spend time walking, running, or simply driving through to look at the picturesque scenery. There are a large variety of trees in the cemetery, a heaven for leaf collectors.
Recently, the cemetery has taken out many trees due to storm damage, disease, or old age. This action is unfortunate but necessary to keep the beautiful appearance of one of Marion's precious gems. To ensure the lasting splendor, the Marion Cemetery offers a memorial tree program which will allow a a tree to be planted to memorialize a loved one.
The cemetery offers two types of programs. The first is simply the purchase of a tree. In this program, for $450, a tree will be procured and planted in the name of the loved one to be memorialized. The second is to honor your loved one with a tree and a bronze plaque. For $700, a tree will be bought and planted and a bronze plaque placed at the base of the tree.
The trees the Marion Cemetery purchase are mature trees (2 years old) and are guaranteed for one year. These trees are also planted in pre-designated areas which the superintendent deems necessary to maintain the cemeteries attractive appeal.
To take advantage of this lasting tribute, please call the cemetery for all the details.
